OPEN ENROLLMENT IS HERE: Four tips you can utilize before the first meeting

With open enrollment right around the corner (as in, RIGHT around it), it’s likely your materials have been gathered and your meeting(s) date set BUT we’d like to share a few items to consider tossing into the mix (they’re easy!) to ensure the project is more engaging and, most importantly, very efficient.

A better meeting leads to a better outcome

  1. Have an FAQ on hand for the first meeting. Fielding questions at the beginning of the process can save the headache of last-minute confusion. It’s likely one of the most important preparations you can make. Make sure to have the FAQ readily available (eg company portal, emailed to staff, etc.) so employees have a place to turn to for answers before they call HR.
  2. Keep them overly informed on deadlines. It’s annoying to do, but we’re naturally procrastinators. And we’re great at forgetting deadlines. Make sure they know one is approaching, over and over again.
  3. Check-in meeting for follow-up questions. You know we would never suggest an unnecessary meeting so believe us when we say that it’s smart to consider a quick live Q&A session before an important deadline arrives. Again, a headache saver.
  4. Record meetings! Whether you post them in a company portal or simply email them upon request, recording meetings is such as smart tactic for keeping everyone moving along the process together.
