Taking the Holistic Approach with HR. What it means and how it’s helpful.

Holistic HR? Yes, you read that right. Maybe you’ve noticed a trend to more comprehensive HR (think an emphasis on employee wellness) in recent years? That’s holistic HR. In this blog, we break down the areas of focus and how they can benefit your company.

Pausing for reflection. Namely how policies affect the workplace and what accommodations can be made while staying compliant. Many policies can be customized to the needs of the staff (for example, paid time off) with just a little reflection and in the end, your staff will thank you for it (and you’ll retain good talent).

Combining the bottom line with employee well-being. You’ll notice a lot of the things we address in this blog circle back to one thing: retaining a skilled workforce by emphasizing the work-life balance. This is no passing trend, employees these days expect their hard work to be recognized by allowing them some breathing room. Unlimited vacation is a great example of this. You should consider what benefits you can offer your staff and you’ll both reap the benefits.

The long game, and the short one, too. We tend to focus on our short-term goals and there’s reason for doing so but what do you wish to achieve in five years? Give it some thought and then consider how HR can play a role in reaching those goals. You might be surprised how much more of a role HR can play in goal-oriented actions. Time for a brainstorming session!
